Overview
By using the LINE notification function of UTOL, you can receive notifications regarding content updates, announcements, and messages via the LINE app. However, there is a possibility that information such as the content of these notifications and your usage status may be acquired and used by LY Corporation. This page explains the information that may be collected through the use of the LINE notification function and how that information is handled by the Information Technology Center at the University of Tokyo.
Precautions Regarding Data Acquisition by LY Corporation
When using the LINE app, LY Corporation—the operator of LINE—may acquire and use information such as the location of the user’s device, service usage history (purchases, browsing, etc.), notification logs, phone numbers, account verification data, and notification reception settings/permission status.
Furthermore, if you configure the forwarding settings in UTOL to use LINE notifications, LY Corporation may acquire and use the following information:
-
Information/Message Notifications If configured according to “Information/Message Notifications,” the content of these notifications may be viewed by LY Corporation.
-
Assignment Titles, Posting Dates, etc. If configured according to “Update information,” the titles of assignments, their posting dates and times, and other related content may be viewed by LY Corporation.
In addition to the above, LY Corporation may acquire and use data indicating the usage status, such as the fact that you are regularly receiving LINE messages from UTOL.
Information Acquisition by the Information Technology Center, the University of Tokyo
The Information Technology Center at the University of Tokyo, which manages and operates UTOL, will not use your LINE account information for any purpose other than sending notifications from UTOL.
